All students in from the Junior Secondary Level can receive counseling services from the school counselor. Counsellors give advisory support for career choices, they are the contact for potential athletes, and they also oversees course selection and scheduling for the High School exams. The counselor works with people on a variety of personal and social difficulties as well as decision-making, academic concerns, goal-setting, personal statements, career planning, and stress management.
Students in the SSS classes who have challenges with mathematics and the science subjects can benefit from participating in the activities of the junior engineers, technicians and scientists club (JETS). JETS help students to connect with other students who share their interests to pursue scientific-related activities. Every Thursday of the month is when the club holds regular meetings. The meetings start with a business meeting where future club goals are discussed and committees for forthcoming events are formed. A science program and refreshments are then offered. The Science Club organizes specialized science-related events throughout the academic year, competes against other schools on a regular basis, and takes part in the international Science Olympiad. In addition, the school science laboratories and fish farm is manned by highly qualified, experienced, diligent and dedicated staff. Students are taught based on the approved NECO and WAEC schemes. As a result of the need to immediately respond to the former Nigerian President Goodluck Jonathan administration drive to skills acquisition, Management approved that classroom teaching be backed up with intense practicals where students are involved from the selection of broodstock, production and nursing of fries, fingerlings and table size fishes. Students are guided to be actively involved in the entire procedure and are given professional advice on the risks, pros and cons as well as the profitability of the venture just in case they wish to take to artificial fish farming either as a career or as a supplementary source of income in the future.
